On Friday, 9th of June 2017 (13.30-18.00) the 1st EUSALP Energy Conference 2017 (“Energy Efficiency in small and medium size enterprises: An opportunity for the EUSALP energy model region”) will take place in Bolzano/Bozen (Italy).
In small and medium size enterprises, there are significant energy savings potentials. While energy audits are mandatory for large companies based on the European Energy Efficiency Directive EU/27/2012, the implementation of energy efficiency measures in SMEs remains voluntary. For this reason, policy makers and public administration play an important role in offering frameworks to make voluntary energy efficiency measures attractive to SMEs. They support SMEs in the planning and implementation of voluntary energy efficiency measures through support programs and initiatives.
The 1st EUSALP Energy Congress, which takes place on 9th June 2017, approaches this issue. Representatives from politics, administration, business and science discuss the current political framework for energy efficiency promotion in small and medium-sized enterprises. Together, they are pitching ideas how the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region may support energy efficiency policies for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Alpine region thereby supporting the sustainability and attractiveness of the region.
The Congress is organized by the Energy Agency South Tyrol-KlimaHaus. Since 2016, it has been the leader of EUSALP Action Group 9, whose task it is to make the Alpine region a model region for energy efficiency and renewable energies.
On Saturday, 10th of June 2017 (8.30-16.00) there will be the workshop “Energieeffizienz in Unternehmen: Von der Theorie zur Praxis“.
What practical measures can a company take to minimize its energy consumption? The workshop "Energy Efficiency in Enterprises: From theory to practice" is tailored for specialists with technical training and entrepreneurs who are interested in making their company more energy-efficient. Together they will discuss the energy savings potential of cross-sectional technologies. Experts from the field of practice explain to the participants, using illustrative case studies such as companies in the fields of refrigeration technology, compressed air, pumps and lighting, to make companies energy-efficient.
Participation is free of charge.
Simultaneous translation service for German / Italian is offered at both events.
The target audience are policymakers, public authorities/energy agencies, stakeholders and persons interested in the macro strategy for the Alpine region.
