The study visit of students of the Fachoberschule für Tourismus und Biotechnologie „Marie Curie“ Meran and the Instituto „Marcelline“ Bolzano started with visiting the Committee of Regions and was followed by a visit of the Common Representation of the European Region Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino.
The 45 participating students learnt about the operating ranges of the office and its collaboration with similar regional representations and the European institutions. By now, more than 200 regions are present with a liaison office in the Belgian capital.
In succession, there was also a presentation about “studying and working in the EU”. Several interesting possibilities – Erasmus exchanges, study abroad or employment opportunities in the EU, e. g. – were discussed as well as the recognition of foreign diplomas and degrees.
The study tour was continued by visits of the European Commission and the visitor centre of the European Parliament and then led the students to Strasbourg where they will have an encounter with MEP Herbert Dorfmann and a visit of the European Parliament.
