On Tuesday 22 November the common representation of the European Region Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino hosted the annual meeting of the Action Cluster 'Integrated Infrastructures and Processes (including open data)' of the European Innovation Partnership Smart Cities and Communities

The EIP Smart Cities and Communities is an initiative supported by the European Commission bringing together cities, industry, SMEs, banks, research and other smart city actors. The aim is to enhance dialogue among these stakeholders to improve citizens’ quality of life, increase competitiveness of Europe’s industry and innovative SMEs, make our cities more competitive and better places to live in, share knowledge to prevent mistakes being repeated, reach our energy and climate targets, support you in fi nding the right partners and solutions It’s about achieving social, environmental and economic sustainability for our cities. In particular, the Action Cluster 'Integrated Platforms and Processes' aims to enhance the value offered by integrating the various existing and new infrastructure networks within and across cities – be they energy, transport, communications or others – rather than duplicating these needlessly.

The Autonomous Province of Trento contributed to the discussion by presenting some locally implemented initiatives aimed to enhance data structuring and foster semantic interoperability among European platforms.
