The 7th edition of the Family Festival will take place in Trento from 3 to 9 December. This edition deals with “Quality of life and competitiveness of the territory: an international perspective”. This Festival goes beyond regional and national borders to activate debate and an exchange of best practices with other areas within a wider environment: a week of events, meetings and seminars to give voice to national and European family wellness policies. There are different activities for families and children as well; not only political meetings, technical and scientific events, but also shows and workshops for children.

The event on 7 December presents challenges, opportunities, and future prospective for the family well-being in the European Pillar of Social Rights; some speakers coming from Brussels will take part in this event moderated by Valeria Liverini, Head of EU Liaison Office of the Autonomous Province of Trento in Brussels. The speech of Liz Gosme, COFACE Families Europe Director, focuses on the European pillar of Social Rights as an opportunity, while the relationship between the European Pillar and a differentiated integration will be presented by Marco Brunazzo, UniTn Associate Professor. Moreover, Pierluigi Brombo, Head of Unit, Relations with Organised Civil Society and Forward Studies at the EESC, analyses European policies related to family welfare; Make Mother Matter’s perspective on the European directive on the reconciliation between work and family life is presented by Michelena Olalla, Segretary General of the EU Delegazione of Make Mother Matter. Luciano Malfer, Director General of the Family Agency (PAT) concludes with final remarks, while an opening statement is delivered by Fabio Scalet, Director General of the Department for institutional and legislative affairs (PAT).
