On 16th January 2020 the EU Liaison Office of the Autonomous Province of Trento in Brussels hosted the new year’s first meeting of the Health Working Group, organized by the ERRIN – European Regions Research and Innovation Network.

Mr Riccardo Farina, representing the Health and Social Policies Department of the Autonomous Province of Trento, opened the event with a brief presentation.

Among the Autonomous Province of Trento best practices, Mr Farina presented Trentino Salute 4.0, the competence centre for the design, development and provision of digital health services and TreC ecosystem (citizens medical records), the electronic platform that allows citizens to benefit from online services related to their health.

This was followed by the speech of Mr Giorgio Clarotti, senior policy officer at the European Commission DG RTD, who explained the latest opportunities of Horizon 2020 and illustrated the innovations that will be introduced under Horizon Europe. Digital transformation in health will also be a cross-cutting priority in the Digital Europe programme. He also outlined the opportunities of Partnerships and Missions under Horizon Europe.

Moreover, participants had the opportunity to discuss priorities and the Health WG activities for the current year.
