In the October of 2015, the EU liaison Office in Brussels of the Autonomous Province of Trento began a training support course for administrators on European policies, programs and decision-making processes in conjunction with the Department of Organization, Human Resources and General Affairs.

This initiative, finalized in December 2016, has enhanced the knowledge on European affairs and the relationship between the Province and European representatives. The decision to create Brussels-based training courses, has also allowed the identification and opening of new work directories with the Commission and the European Parliament.

In Europe, the opportunities are numerous and varied. In addition to direct funding programs, there is the use of financial instruments (credits, guarantees, equity, etc.), expert groups, advisory bodies, pilot projects as well as the European coordination, collaboration networks and platforms.

In 2017, the deepening of policies and initiatives of the EU (by the provincial administrative staff) in the training course has ensured a mid-term and long-term follow-up of the initiatives taken by the European Union.

During 2017, in order to ensure a long-term process to deepen the understanding of European policies and initiatives, the Administration has launched a new training program addressing the different directors of the Autonomous Province of Trento.
The initiative, which is on par with the “Strategic Plan to develop the Human Capital”, consists of short training courses in Brussels. This program is aimed to help and develop project designs and priority initiatives of the division/agency/department.
