We wish to present the 7th edition of the Alpeuregio Summer School on Institutions and Policies of the European Union which is being organized by the Representation of the European Region Tyrol – South Tyrol – Trentino in Brussels.
Since 1995, the Land Tyrol, and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen-South Tyrol and the Autonomous Province of Trento have had a Representation Office to the European Union in Brussels. The collaboration among the three regions has gradually strengthened since then and has led to various common initiatives, among which is the Alpeuregio Summer School.
Following the success of the last six years, the Representation Office of the European Region Tyrol – South Tyrol – Trentino is organizing the seventh edition of this learning experience.
The objective of this course is to deepen the understanding of the functioning of the European Institutions and of the most significant European policies. High-level officials from EU bodies will give an insight into the main topics relevant on the EU agenda.
The nine-day Alpeuregio Summer School is held in English and is aimed at university students and graduates interested in pursuing a European career or implementing at regional level the knowledge acquired during the course.
The course will address topics such as: the history of the European integration, the organization, functioning and decision procedures of the European institutions and the major policies of the European Union. In addition, an overview of the lobbying activities at EU level will be offered, not to mention, employment opportunities in European institutions and how to access them.
The course will be held at the Representation Office of the European Region Tyrol – South Tyrol – Trentino in Rue de Pascale 45-47 in Brussels. It will take place from 3rd to 13th of July 2017.
Thirty candidates from the Land Tyrol and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen-South Tyrol and the Autonomous Province of Trento will be selected on the basis of their academic achievements/qualifications with a clear European reference.
The application must be submitted by 7th of April 2017. Participants who attend the course will receive a certificate of participation. The course is free, whereas travel and accommodation costs will be at the expense of the participants.
We kindly ask you to promote this initiative through your information channels.
